16 weeks and counting!

Wednesday, October 15, 2008
"Get ready for a growth spurt. In the next few weeks, your baby will double his weight and add inches to his length. Right now, he's about the size of an avocado: 4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces. His legs are much more developed, his head is more erect than it has been, and his eyes have moved closer to the front of his head. His ears are close to their final position, too. The patterning of his scalp has begun, though his locks aren't recognizable yet. He's even started growing toenails. And there's a lot happening inside as well. For example, his heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, and this amount will continue to increase as your baby continues to develop."

So our little boy is growing so big! I absolutely love getting these emails. I can't believe I am already 16 weeks. So up until 20 weeks the way they measure the baby is from head to their bum...not to their feet. Once I hit 20 weeks they start measuring from head to toe. So our baby from his head to his butt is about 4 1/2 inches right now, but really he is a lot longer than that because of his legs...I dont understand why they dont include the legs. So I wonder how big our baby really is! :) It is so much fun. Stay tuned for some pregnancy pictures. As soon as I get the energy to get ready for the day I will post a picture! :)
