A lot of pain!

Tuesday, March 31, 2009
Yes, I am in a lot of pain right now. The baby is pushing so far out on my stomach that I feel as if my skin is ripping and he is just going to come out that way. The pain is so sharp. About an hour ago I started having troubles with walking again. It goes in and out. So today all of Allen's siblings went to a ropes course in Provo. It is so much fun. I went with them last summer too and had a blast, but this time I obviously couldn't participate. I sure enjoyed watching them all though. I am so proud of myself for being able to get out of the house today. I totally thought that this late in the game I would be in the house and not want to get out. But it's nice to get out and move around. Tomorrow is my due date. I so badly want an april fools baby. In order for that to happen I would have to start contracting tonight though...and I HIGHLY doubt that will happen. My mom flies in tomorrow and I am so very excited. Even though I really want an april fools baby, I also so badly want him to stay inside for a few more days. I am just so looking forward to spending some time with my mom and having some fun girl time before the baby comes. I just cant believe that I have spent all this time counting down till tomorrow and now here I am. It is so crazy to think about. Now I just get to wait around for him to decide to come out. EEEEEEKKKK!!!

Tonight is the very last night of it just being Allen and I in our home. Tomorrow night my mom will be with us and then soon the baby...so its our very last night alone together. That makes me sad!

My favorite part of the day

Monday, March 30, 2009
My favorite part of the day is late at night when I get to have pillow talk with my husband. Does everyone do that? I just love laying there next to him and talking, and talking, and talking. I just can't get enough of it. I guess I have been keeping him up too late though. My pillow talk is tending to go later lately...probably because the baby is coming soon...I dunno. I just love every minute I have with Allen and I appreciate him so much. When he is gone at school and work I get so sad. I don't like to be away from him. I am two days away from my due date, which means soon I will have my son to occupy me. All I want is a little version of Allen. I so badly want a mini Allen...

40 weeks

Sunday, March 29, 2009
Ok you all got your way! No matter how bad I didn't want to do this I still did. So here I am 40 weeks pregnant and looking huge! I am about to burst I swear!

...until my due date.  Woohoo!  Which means probably 10 days until he comes....let's hope not!  Last night I made monkey bread and put it in the fridge so I could bake it in the morning.  So this morning I woke up and put it in the oven and frosted it, it was nice to have a warm breakfast to eat.  ***I POSTED THE RECIPE ON MY RECIPE BLOG*** Allen went off to his meeting before church and then I threw up.  I was so bummed.  At this stage, throwing up really hurts.  It makes my stomach contract and the muscles hurt so bad.  I had to go lay down because it put me in a lot of pain.  So I missed church today.  I would have been so uncomfortable and not have even made it through sacrament.  Oh well, I am nine months pregnant, I am sure people understand.

Yesterday was an eventful day!  So let me start at the begining of the day.  Allen went to his Spanish class at UVU and then came home.  I got ready for my last day of work and then he drove me to work.  Work was fun.  I love my job, and kinda sad that it was my last day...but happy because it will be nice to stay home.  We got a new machine last week that does silk screening on t-shirts.  I got to play around with it and I put a monkey on a shirt.  It was fun! :)  My work threw a little going away party for me and there were presents and a card with $40 in it.  We had cake and stuff and I thought it was so sweet of them.  They made me promise to call right after I had the baby to let them know!  Allen had to work at the Pizza Factory from 2-close and had the car, so my sister in law Maria was kind enough to come get me from work and bring me home.  Thanks again Maria! :)

So here is the next story of the day:
I got home from work about 3:20 and had NOTHING to do for the rest of the night.  The weather was so PERFECT.  It was warm but not hot.  The sun was out...it was so nice.  I felt great.  I finally was able to walk again since I couldn't all week.  So I wanted to take advantage of the nice weather and me feeling good and get out of the house.  I had missed a baby shower that morning that I really wanted to go to and I needed to get her a gift, so I had a brilliant idea.  I was going to walk to the bus stop and take the bus to Babies R Us and enjoy the night.  So I looked up the bus schedule and planned the route and walked to the bus stop.  I texted Allen and told him I was at the bus stop and going to Babies R Us so he wouldn't worry...well I guess that made him worry even more.  He called me freaking out and told me I could not ride the bus.  I told him it was too late that I was riding it anyways.  I guess he had already called my brother in law Scott and asked him to come pick me up from the bus stop, that he didn't want me riding the bus.  So up pulls Scott and asks me to get in the car and I told him I wanted to ride the bus.  Well he kindly made me get in the car and drove me to Babies R Us.  That was so sweet of him, but I was so excited to get out and walk and just enjoy the night.  Oh well.  I guess Allen thinks its a bad idea for me to ride the bus being this pregnant!  I think it was sweet of him to look out for me, but I would have been totally okay!

So here is the next story:
Last night Allen had to close at work and it was a later night because they had a huge party walk in right before close.  Well I called him at 11 to see how things were going with closing and he said he would be leaving in about 45 minutes.  Well he ALWAYS calls me and informs me when things are going later than normal and tells me when he was on his way home.  Well at 12:15 I started worrying a little because I hadn't heard from him yet telling me it was taking longer.  I didn't want to call and bug him or anything so I just kept watching the clock.  12:20, 12:25, 12:30....okay I am now really worried.  I kept calling his cell phone and NO ANSWER.  I called over and over and over again....NO ANSWER.  After ten mintues of calling I called his work to see if he was still there and the manager informed me he left around 12.  So, he left at midnight, and it is now 12:40 and he is not home and he isn't answering his phone.  Can you imagine what that did to me?  I thought for sure he had an accident or something and was dead somewhere.  I kept trying to call him and still no answer.  So I called my mom bawling and explaining the situation and asking her what I should do and she told me to call Maria and Scott.  So I get off the phone with her and I am sobbing uncontrollably.  I call Maria and to make a long story short, he was over there.  I guess he thought I would have already been asleep and didn't want to wake me up to tell me he was coming home.  Well Maria and Scott only live a few doors down from us, and when Allen was driving by he saw lights still on at their house so he stopped by and left his phone in his car.  Allen came rushing home after I called Maria and I was just sitting in my glider chair in the babies room bawling my eyes out.  He came up to me and just hugged me and held me and told me how sorry he was but thought I was asleep.  I explained that I wasn't mad at him, just that I thought for sure he was dead.  Oh I cannot even explain to you all how I felt last night.  I was so scared and didn't know what to do.  What else would you think if its almost 1 in the morning and your husband still isn't home from work and you can't get ahold of him.  IT KILLED ME!  All I could think about is that I am having a baby in a few days and my husband is gone and I was all alone...not a good feeling.  Not at all!

Oh I wonder...

Friday, March 27, 2009
I often lay here wondering who our little son will look like.   So the question is:

Will he look like Daddy?

Will he look like Mommy?

I guess we'll find out soon enough!  What is your guess?

I am now down to 5 DAYS in counting. Oh wow that is unbelievable. I remember when I was counting down from triple digits. It is just so amazing that I am so close. Here is a little update. Last you heard, you heard about my workout. BAD IDEA GUYS! I have not been able to walk since that night. I can't move my legs at all. So now I am just playing it cool and letting the stinker decide when he wants to come out. I just can't even move. Tomorrow is my last day of work and I hope I will be able to make it. I just can't believe the pregnancy is almost over!

Things I will miss about being pregnant:
  • Playing games with him as he kicks his feet out.  It's so much fun!
  • Feeling him kick and move around (of course I wont miss the kicks that hurt)
  • All of the free time I have had laying around doing NOTHING
  • Long baths every day to relax me.
  • Watching my stomach go crazy as he moves around
  • Having an excuse for everything :)
  • Knowing that my body is GROWING a HUMAN BEING...amazing
  • Allen feeling the baby kick and his reaction
  • Being able to eat what I want and however much I want and having an excuse for it!
Of course there is stuff I WONT miss about the pregnancy but we all already know what that list consists of.  I am so excited for our son to make an entrance into this world, and I am so excited to bring him home to us!  Although I am so excited, there are some things that make me sad.  It is so sad to know that Allen and I only have a few days left of just him and I.  Never again will it be just Allen and I and that makes me sad.  I love my husband so dearly and I have ejoyed our short time we have had together with nobody else.  I just pray and hope that when the baby comes that we can still find time to be a couple and enjoy eachothers company.  I love my son, but I don't want to go from being a couple to just living under the same roof.  It is important to always find time for eachother and to show eachother our love.  I just pray and hope that we can find time to be parents and be married instead of just being parents.  I hope that makes sense.  I love you so much Allen and am looking forward to all the wonderful years we have together ahead of us!

I love my son so much.  I am so excited for him to come home.  Every second of every day I dream about holding him and kissing him.  I am so excited to be a mother and to bring our son home.  We love you baby!

What a workout!

Wednesday, March 25, 2009
So I have not worked out ONCE since being pregnant! Well tonight Allen and I went to the gym and lets just say...I worked my trash off. I walked on the treadmill for about a mile and a half at a very fast walking pace. I was dying. My stomach was getting these pains that were so painful. I don't know if it was the baby or just stomach pains from working out or minor contractions...I couldn't tell. So I took a few minute break and then got on the elliptical machine and did half a mile. I am hoping that it was some nice movement in my pelic area. Then I went and rode the bike for a mile. So in total I did 3 miles at the gym tonight. It probably wont do anything but I am hoping it triggers something seeing that I haven't worked out at all. I am just hoping that the baby drops more and I can dilate more by next week...well hopefully I wont be pregnant next week...but I bet I will. So we'll see. Man am I in pain. My body feels really relaxed but in a lot of pain at the same time. I am wobbling like a 90 year old woman...it's kinda funny! Allen sure is enjoying laughing at me as I try walking! :) My plan is to go to the gym every day and work it hard so that I can naturally induce myself rather than having a doctor do it. Wish us luck! :)

39 weeks

So today my baby hit 39 weeks! WOOHOO! I had a doctors appointment this morning and Allen was able to come to it...that was wonderful. They checked my cervix and I am still 70% efaced and dilated to a 1. So still no more progress, but he said that it is wonderful that I am at that point because most first mom's aren't. So yeah I guess thats pretty cool. Now about my due date...originally I was told that it was April 3rd, then I was told April 1st. A couple months ago I called them to see which one of the two it really was and they said the 2nd. What the heck? So I decided to just stick with the 1st because I liked it better! :) HAHAHA! Well everytime I say I am due on the 1st Allen has to correct it to the 2nd. Today at the doctors office the doctor asked when my due date was and I said they have told me the 1st, the 2nd, and the 3rd so I didn't know. I told him I liked the 1st better and he smiled and said, okay then thats your due date! SO HA ALLEN ITS THE FIRST! HAHAHAHAHA! I talked with the doctor about when I can be induced because I really dont want to be in the hospital for Easter. I go into my next appointment on the 2nd and if I am dilated to a 3 then I can leave with an induction date. If my body hasn't dilated to a 3 at that point, then they will see me a few days after that and check me again and at that point I can be induced starting my 41 week mark which puts me at the 8th. I am praying and hoping that my body can dilate enough by next week so that I can have him between the 2nd and the 8th so he can be home for Easter...otherwise it looks like the baby and I will most likly be in the hospital for Easter. BUMMER!

Recipe Blog

So I have been posting some recipes the last couple days on my recipe blog. I just wanted to let you know what I have posted:

So if you want any of these recipes you can find it by clicking HERE or go in the left hand column under the MY BLOGS section and click "Inside Whitney's Kitchen"

Have a great night!

Things I adore about my husband:

  • When he wakes me up, he wakes me up by massaging my feet.  It is the best way to wake up in the world.  How can you wake up grumpy if when you open your eyes, you are getting a foot massage?  Absolutely impossible!
  • He loves to cook and loves to BBQ.  I just love that he can always help me in the kitchen and I fully trust him in there.  I could ask him to finish the whole meal and he would cook it perfectly.  I LOVE IT!
  • Being so pregnant, I take baths everday.  I just love to take long baths because it helps relax my body.  Well, Allen comes and checks on me frequently to make sure I haven't fallen asleep in there and he is always there helping me get out of the bathtub!
  • Allen is a complete child at heart.  I love when he just breaks down and starts playing with toys...such as in Toys R Us, its fun to see him running around with strollers and stuff.  He just loves to play! :)
  • He loves to color.  Yes that's right, I just discovered that he loves coloring in COLORING books.  HAHAHA!  He colors with him neice all the time.  He colors Princess pages and Hello Kitty pages and he is so proud of them.
  • You never know what he is going to do or say next.  Everything is a shoker and a huge surprise, but you can always count on it to make you laugh.
  • He loves to dance.  He does this contemporary dancing that is just sooo funny.  One day I will film it, oh its great!  He also loves to teach his neice how to dance! :)
  • Allen is really good at filling in with the things I am lacking....such as the laundry!
  • You can always count on him to make you laugh or roll your eyes, he just does the most random stuff.
  • He is really great with children and loves to play with them.  He is going to be such a great dad!
  • HE LOVES TO CLEAN/DETAIL CARS!  How wonderful is that.  I love having a clean car and he sure loves to clean it.  He will take the car and clean every inch for hours and loves to make it perfect!
  • I love how he makes me feel.  I have never been so crazy about someone as I am for him.  I am absolutely and terribly madly in love with him.  Sometimes he drives me nuts...but I love him so much.  I can't picture my life or future with anyone but him and I appreciate everything he does for me.  He is a wonderful man, husband, priesthood holder, student, worker, and soon to be dad.  He is great at everything he does and I am so proud of him!  I love you so much honey!

A lot of preparing...

Saturday, March 21, 2009
Well there's been a lot going on lately. Yesterday I went and ran some errands. I had some money on a Babies R Us gift card and I went and used it. I got some special detergent you are supposed to use on baby clothes so I can get his clothes and blankets all washed so they are all ready to go!

I also got some baby Q-Tips and pacifiers and also a basket for his bookshelf. I already had a blue one I had gotten at my shower and I wanted to get a brown one too!

So I picked up a brown one and put it on his bookshelf. I still need to get one more blue and one more brown one for the bottom shelf of his bookshelf. I have some of his things inside of them, and as you can see I stocked up the blue basket with tons of diapers. I used some of my birthday money and got the baby a huge pack of costco diapers and wipes and the diapers are soo cute! :)

I call my baby my little monkey, so I especially like these diapers. Aren't they so cute? Allen and I got our car seat in our car so its ready to go!

I worked on his name for his room and got it all finished!

Now I just need it put up on the wall! :) I have been putting my list of addresses together to send out baby announcements and I have started addressing the envelops so that can all be done. That way when I get my announcements I just have to stuff the envelops and put them in the mail! I am trying to get ahead of myself. Last night Allen HAD to go buy Twilight at midnight. He is such a goof. If any of you know my husband you understand why this is so strange for me. He is not that type of person. He was SOOO anti twilight and then became obsessed when the movie came out. Then he couldn't put the books down and he was counting down the days for the movie to come out. He is such a goof!

Last night was really really really rough for me. I used to get these pains late ant night and in the morning in my pelvic area where my legs connect, but now it is a constant pain all day long. Yesterday I couldn't even walk. I was in so much pain. I can't move, I can't get up...I am helpless. I left work early today because I couldn't even sit the pain was so strong. The baby is so active and really hurting me a lot. Last night I just broke down into tears because I can't take the pain. I know I am a wimp, but seriously...the pelvic pains are unbareable. Allen gave me some Tylenol PM to calm me. I was just about to go to the store to get castor oil. I was so done. I still want to, but he wont let me. Come on...I am almost 39 weeks! Just get him out already! I don't even know what to do. I can't stand, walk, or sit because my pelvis hurts. I know lots of you have gone through this, and what do I do?
I am going to pack my hospital bag this week so I can have that ready when I go into labor. I want to be prepared and not forget something important. I need some advice! What are some things you packed that was nice for the hospital and what are some things you wish you had? Any advice would be wonderful. Thanks! :)
