Inside my head...
Something I just dont get: I hear that when you hit your second trimester your sickness is supposed to be over and you should feel like you have more energy, etc. Well, in 3 days I will be starting my second trimester. I know that it's not something that just happens over night where you wake up feeling better...but I am feeling worse. I have had a pretty easy first trimester compared to most pregnant ladies, which I feel blessed. I only missed one day of work and I've only thrown up twice. I can hardly keep down any food but I am pretty dang good at holding it down, and I only failed twice. I haven't had any energy and have had lots of stomach aches, but overall it has been a lot better than most ladies first trimester. This last week has been really hard. I have been so sick this whole week, and my stomach hardened. I touch my stomach and it is rock hard and I feel so uncomfortable. I have the most raging head aches, and my stomach feels like its going to explode. I thought things were going to get easier, but instead I have felt more sick the last few days then I have the past 13 weeks. Oh well, lets just see how it goes in the next few weeks.
I have 2 pregnancy shirts so far and I am so glad I bought those a couple weeks ago. I am just getting so uncomfortable in all my layers and my clothes being tight, so every once and awhile I will just wear one of my new shirts. Even though they are big on me, I just feel so much better and I'm so much more comfortable.
Lately, I have been stressing about food storage. I don't know why but the last month or so I just cant get it out of my head. I just know how the economy is and I know it will get worse. I feel so strongly that we need to start collecting food storage. I know I am probably going crazy, and its probably just the mom in me coming out. I just keep feeling prompted that I need to start. My problems with it is: 1. I don't have extra money to collect more food, Allen and I just have enough for what we need. and 2. I dont have ANY room for food storage. Where in the world could I hold food storage for a family for 3 in a little basement apartment. It's starting to stress me out because I know the importance of it. Whether we end up needing it or not, which I am sure we will be fine, I would just rather be safe than sorry and know that I can protect my small but important family. Am I going crazy and do you have any ideas?

13 weeks of pregnancy...
Wednesday, September 24, 2008
Fingerprints have formed on your baby's tiny fingertips, her veins and organs are clearly visible through her still-thin skin, and her body is starting to catch up with her head — which makes up just a third of her body size now. If you're having a girl, she now has more than 2 million eggs in her ovaries. Your baby is almost 3 inches long (the size of a medium shrimp) and weighs nearly an ounce.
I don't really understand...last week was a lime and now a shrimp? I feel like the shrimp is smaller than a lime. Oh well. This weeks email was really short, but I thought it was interesting that if we are having a girl, then she already has more than 2 million eggs in her ovaries. Does that just amaze anyone else? I am just so shocked! It's so crazy how a woman instantly feels a bond to her child and an indescribable love for them. It is just the coolest thing in the world. When I went to my doctors appointment I asked the doctor if it was true that I couldn't eat stuffing on Thanksgiving with being pregnant...cuz that's what I heard and read on the internet. He said it was NOT true and that I could eat as much stuffing out of that turkey as I would like and it wont harm the baby at all! YIPPEEEE....I LOVE STUFFING! So, I just wanted to clear that up with everybody since I said a couple posts ago that I couldn't eat stuffing.
If you haven't heard about my last appointment and hearing the heart beat for the first time, you can read it on my baby blog. It was the coolest thing I have ever experienced. I would recommend it to anyone. Anyways, my 16 week appointment is on October 20th, so I am pretty dang excited. This is my last week of my first trimester, so on next wednesday I am a new woman. Well, not really...but at least I made it to the second trimester. Yay for babies!

Fall...oh how I love you!
Saturday, September 20, 2008
I absolutely LOVE Fall. I love when you walk outside and you can smell it in the air. I love the holidays in fall! I am so excited this year for Halloween. I am so excited to see the little kids walking around the neighborhood in their costumes. I don't think we will have any trick-or-treaters this year though because we live in a basement. So probably our only one will be my cute little niece Abby! We love her to death. I also LOVE Thanksgiving. My favorite part of Thanksgiving is the stuffing...but unfortunately I will not be able to eat it this year with being pregnant (something about it being cooked inside the turkey...I don't really understand it). So that is a big bummer, but I am still so excited. Thanksgiving this year is also Allen's birthday, so that will be really fun. I LOVE my husband. Another thing about fall that I love is the weather. I love when it is chilly and you get to wear sweaters. I love the wind, and the smell in the air. I love the leaves on the ground and how colorful it it. Oh, how I love Fall! I am so excited and love that it is starting to get overcast a lot. Hot chocolate here I come...

Our baby at 12 weeks (as of today! )
Wednesday, September 17, 2008
"The most dramatic development this week: reflexes. Your baby's fingers will soon begin to open and close, his toes will curl, his eye muscles will clench, and his mouth will make sucking movements. In fact, if you prod your abdomen, your baby will squirm in response, although you won't be able to feel it. His intestines, which have grown so fast that they protrude into the umbilical cord, will start to move into his abdominal cavity about now, and his kidneys will begin excreting urine into his bladder.
Meanwhile, nerve cells are multiplying rapidly, and in your baby's brain, synapses are forming furiously. His face looks unquestionably human: His eyes have moved from the sides to the front of his head, and his ears are right where they should be. From crown to rump, your baby-to-be is just over 2 inches long (about the size of a lime) and weighs half an ounce."
Oh, so fun! I love my updates each week. So my stomach is starting to feel tighter. My rib cage is getting wider (I can tell because my bra doesn't fit right around my rib cage anymore). My shirts are staring to get tighter...I'm starting to show a little bit. I think I am going to start "Popping" a lot more over the next few weeks. I have friends who are just a few weeks ahead of me and they are all staring to have a pregnant belly. I am so scared and so excited. We have our next doctors appointment on Monday which will be so much fun. The doctors said that I am going to be listening to the heart beat for the first time....OH SO FUN! It will be so great to have some reassurance that there is a baby in there and that I am not just getting fat! HAHAHA! So on Monday I will let you all know how that goes.
Also on Monday Allen starts his new job at UVU. I am so proud of him for going and getting a new job. He will love doing something other than doing pizzas, I think it will be a nice change. His school is going well, and he seems to not have troubles with any of his homework yet so that's good. I think that is about all that is going on...

I just keep craving bean burritos from Taco Bell and double stacks from Wendy's. What's wrong with me. I don't want anything else and I keep craving them. Nice.

Our little baby....
Wednesday, September 10, 2008
Every week I get updates emailed to me from BabyCenter.com about what is going on with our baby this week. This is what the email said today...meet our baby...
"Your baby, just over 1 1/2 inches long and about the size of a fig, is now almost fully formed. Her hands will soon open and close into fists, tiny tooth buds are beginning to appear under her gums, and some of her bones are beginning to harden.
She's already busy kicking and stretching, and her tiny movements are so effortless they look like water ballet. These movements will become more frequent as her body grows and becomes more developed and functional. You won't feel your baby's acrobatics for another month or two — nor will you notice the hiccupping that may be happening now that her diaphragm is forming."
Oh, these emails are so much fun. I also get to see a picture every week of what the size of our baby is that week compared to a quarter...enjoy our little fig:
I am now 11 weeks along and it is so nice to know I am almost out of the first trimester. Oh I love it. My shirts are starting to get a little bit tighter around my stomach, so my baby sure is starting to grow. I am about a month ahead of where my sister was during her pregnancy last year. At Christmas time she sure had a nice pregnant belly, which means...I am expecting to have a pretty large pregnant belly by Thanksgiving. That is right around the corner...how crazy is that!

There's been better days...
Sunday, September 7, 2008
I am getting really sad. The last couple of days I can only eat a few bites of my meal and then I go running into the bathroom. I HATE throwing up more than anything in the world. So when I feel it coming I hurry and grab my cup of cold water and I take a sip and pray that I don't throw up. I still haven't thrown up yet but every time I eat I sure feel like I am about to. I keep praying that I will keep everything down and I hope I can get through this pregnancy without throwing up. I hate that I can't really eat anything. It really stinks! Oh well, the joys of being pregnant. When the baby comes I know all of it will be worth it, so I keep on going...
