What a joke!

Monday, March 24, 2008
A guess people really took that previous post seriously. For anyone who did not read that post I am NOT wearing that dress. It was completely a joke. Haha. Anyways, our basement apartment is now empty and they are shampooing the carpets and getting it ready for us to move in. I am so excited. I am going home to Seattle this thursday to go play with my mom and go to my bridal shower. I am starting to see things being purchased off my registry so its getting so exciting. I love it!

My wedding dress!

Thursday, March 20, 2008

That's right...I found it. What do you think? I am sooo excited because it's everything I always wanted. I just love that its really modest and covers my shoulders. My favorite part of the dress though is the bow. I am going to take that off and do a sage one. I think that it will be gorgeous.

Just kidding I would NEVER wear that dress. But I did find my wedding dress. I put money on it the other day to have it placed on hold. WOOHOO! Go me!

101 days left...

Wednesday, March 19, 2008

Yup! Thats right...101 days till we get married. June 28th feels so far away. I leave in a week to go home to Seattle for my bridal shower. I am way excited about that. It will be so fun to go home and get presents right before I move into our new place. I get to move in the first week in April so I am excited to start getting stuff for our place. Allen and I just got a free computer desk for our second bedroom. I am so happy with all the free stuff we have been able to get. I can hardly wait to marry this boy...he is my FAVORITE!!! I love him so much and he is so good to me. I honestly could not ask for anything more. Thank you Allen! My birthday was just last Sunday so he took me out on a date Saturday night. We went out to eat at Mi Ranchito (our favorite mexican place here) and to the movies. Then we went and drove around for a bit and he gave me my presents. He bought me a new font cartridge for my cricut!!! WOOHOO! :) He also got me a gift certificate to get my nails done. He is amazing! I can hardly wait to be with him for eternity...

Oh the joys of being sick!

Thursday, March 6, 2008
So I have been sick for about two weeks now. I started feeling better and then started getting worse again. It was awful! So my mom told me I need to go get checked (but I dont have insurance). I went to the Student Health Center at UVSC and turns out I now have a horrible sinus infection. She also told me my asthma problem has gotten horrible again and I need to start taking my inhaler a lot. She also told me that it was very important for me to start sleeping by a humidifier for a bit. I didnt have one which meant I had to go buy one... :( After I left I went to Wal Mart to get my prescriptions filled. I had called my mom to see if my sister had one and she told me she didn't. To my suprise my mom said that she would buy one for me. I was so happy. So I got all the 3 prescriptions I needed, my inhaler, and humidifier to get better and it was $90...which completely got rid of the money in my account. To my suprise again my mom asked me for my bank account number to put the money in my account and she decided to put $100 in it to pay for everything. I am so grateful. I love my mom so much. I love when you think you are on your own and you get a nice suprise like that! Thanks so much mom! So I got home about 3:30 and took all my meds and locked myself in my bedroom with my humidifier. It was a great feeling. I am already starting to feel a little bit better.

So here is some more good news. Last night I noticed I had mail, so I opened it. Now, I used to work for a company called Firstline Security and stopped working there in November. Well, over time the had shorted me a lot of money and I was having a hard time getting that money. Well they went bankrupt in January and shut down. They sent out checks to their employees they had to help out a little when finding a new job. So I opened up the mail and there was a $374 check written out to me from them. I was so suprised. I really needed some money because Allen and I are saving to move into our apartment. Well now we have almost $400 that we weren't planning on. Its great how the Lord works in mysterious ways when you are in need of help. Who would have guessed that you would randomly get a nice check from a previous employer which you haven't worked for in 4 1/2 months. CRAZY! It was a good day!

8 interesting/crazy things about me

Tuesday, March 4, 2008

I was reading Maria's blog and she did this. I thought it looked fun. So anyone who reads this and wants to do the same, I encourage it!

1. I will have to go with Maria on this one as well. I HATE milk with a passion. I think that it is the most vial thing on this earth (well not really...but close). I only use it to cook with and very rarely when I have cereal. I as well drain the milk from each spoonfull before eating the cereal. Lots of people think I am strange by that and tell me to just not put milk in the bowl but I cant. I like having the moisture...I dont like it dry. So there you go...I HATE MILK!

2. I absolutely love going to kitchen stores. As a child my mom had to practically pull my teeth for me to go in there and I dreaded every minute of it. Now that I have gotten older I have completely turned into my mom. I have a hard time walking past a kitchen store and not going in. I love to go to Williams-Sonoma and look at their spatulas. I love to collect them. I guess I am a little strange because of that.

3. When I was a child I could never be bored. I would get grounded and it was never a punishment. I loved every moment of it. My mom and dad could never find a way to punish me because they would send me to my room and I would enjoy it. I swear you could have sent me to a little square room with white walls and nothing inside and I would still find something to do. I loved it. My parents even tried grounding me to the bathroom because they didnt think I could find something to do...little did they know...! :)

4. I love art. I love to draw. I used to sit there for hours and draw. My grandma used to send me only art stuff for my birthday and Christmas. They were always the best gifts. In high school I grew a love for painting and ceramics. I absolutely LOVE playing on the pottery wheel. It is one of the best feelings to have the clay in your hand and create things as it spins around. My only classes in high school that I enjoyed was choir and art. I never did any of my other homework because I would lock myself in my bedroom and work on art projects. I thrived off of it!

5. Another reason why I have grown up to be my mom. I used to think it was so weird that my mom always scrubbed the kitchen sink with Comet after she did the dishes. Ever since I moved out of the house, I often find myself opening up the cabinet under the sink and getting the comet and bleaching the sink after doing the dishes. It just comes natural. I love bleaching my sink!

6. I love to sew. I always made lots of my clothing. I loved making my formals in high school and all my skirts and fun bags. I love to not use a pattern. It was always so fun to just go buy fabric and start cutting and sewing. I was always amazed how cute things would turn out without using a pattern. It was kinda risky, but always so fun! Now that I have an apartment with a total of 6 girls, I dont have the space to sew (or the time)...but I can hardly wait to start sewing again when I have my own place.

7. I am crazy about everything matching in my home. Everything has to match right and be the same colors. I just about died when my new roommates moved in and put a pink seat cover on the toilet in my green bathroom. I also about had a heart attack when one of my roommates moved in and wanted to put out a rug that had a gnome on it. So I comprimised. It went outside! :) The other day when Allen and I went to IKEA he wanted to get these plastic neon cups and I didn't want them...I wanted them to match and with the colors of my kitchen. I guess I should loosen up about those things but it drives me insane when things are just put together all mix match in my home.

8. When I was little I used to collect random things out of the trash. I never understood why my mom threw out "cool" stuff. A two minute job of taking out the trash when I was 7 would take me 30 minutes. I would go through EVERYTHING she threw away. Once she threw away a phone that didnt work and I took it out of the trash and put it in my backpack. The next day at school I took the phone out and put it on my desk because I thought it would look cool if the kids saw I had my own phone. I dont remember what grade I was on. Probably either K or 1st. So my teacher called my mom and told her I was bringing weird things to scool.

Wow, that was a lot harder than I though it would be to come up with 8 things about me. I challange you all to do it too. It's kinda fun!

IKEA day...so fun!

Monday, March 3, 2008

So today Allen and I went to IKEA and had a blast! At first we were a little overwhelmed and felt lost. As we walked around we really started to enjoy it. Well, Allen enjoyed sitting in the comfortable chairs as I enjoyed walking around. We saw some really cool stuff. We found the bed frame that we want:

Thats the bed frame...but thats not our sheets...just the frame. What do you think? We also found our kitchen table and chairs. It is really cool. We also found tons of picture frames we liked, a coffee table, some bedroom furniture...all sorts of fun stuff. Anyways, IKEA was really fun. We didn't purchase anything but we know where to go with birthday/wedding money. :)

After IKEA we went to Chili's for lunch since we were out. If you haven't tried their Queso you have to. It's to die for. Chili's is one of Allen's favorite places. It was really nice to go have fun together today because we never really get to. We tend to always work opposite shifts. Today I only had to work 8-11 in the morning, and Allen had to be at work at 5. So we pretty much had all day. Allen just got off work and drove down to my apartment to surprise me and I am on here (which means I should go hang out with him because he is now playing N64).

Our new ward

Sunday, March 2, 2008
Today I went to the ward that Allen and I will be in when we get married. It seems like a great ward and I am so excited. Allen and I are going to be living in Orem. Allen is already in that ward because he is currently living in his sister Maria's basement who is in the ward boundaries. So in about a month I will be living in our new place by myself until June 28th. How exciting!

So I received some really great news today. Allen has a best friend named Ryan and he is going to be in our wedding party. Well when we moved our wedding to Seattle I was worried that Ryan wouldn't be able to be there. It made me really sad because I knew how much Allen wanted him to be there. Well Allen broke the news to him this morning that we were now getting married in Seattle. Ryan didn't even hesitate and was like, "Sweet, I've never been to Washington." So, yay!... Ryan will be there. I am so excited because he has been a big part of Allen's life and he is a good friend of ours.

Tonight we are going over to my friends house. Jim and Camilla invited us over for a game night. I am so excited because I feel like I haven't seen them in ages and its only been a couple months. We really like Jim and Camilla. They have been really good friends of mine and I can always count on them. They have stood by my side through everything I have gone through the past couple years. So yeah we are excited to go over there in a little bit.

I was reading through my previous posts and I realized I said something that could have came off the wrong way. In my first post I mentioned that I was so excited that my sister Ashlee would be at my wedding. What I meant to say was that I am so excited that my whole family would be able to be there. Before, only Carli and my two brothers would be there. So I am excited to not only have Ashlee there, but everyone. I just meant that Ashlee wasn't going to be there and I was so excited. It will be nice to have all of my siblings there! I love you all!
