Casting for the dreaded HELMET!

Tuesday, September 22, 2009
So Riley's head is extremely flat in the back, so he has to be put in a helmet. Today they had to make a cast of his head and send it in for his helmet to be made. Here is a little bit of how it went:

Photobucket
Sitting there all innocent with absolutely NO idea of what is about to happen.

Photobucket
and then...BAM! They start puttign stuff on his head. He's still doing okay though...

Photobucket
WOW, now there is many layers!

Photobucket
...getting a little bit fusy!

Photobucket
Now he is really upset that the doctor is holding his head still.

Photobucket
REALLY UPSET! He does not like when he cannot see.

Photobucket
The doctor is now making the cast...

Photobucket
Still going...

Photobucket
at least he can see now!

Photobucket
He has no idea what is going on.

Photobucket
Just relaxing because here comes the worst part...

Photobucket
They took it off his head! He was so mad! Poor guy. The helmet should be in sometime in the beginning of October. So sad...

Surgery was a success!

Monday, September 21, 2009
Riley went into surgery for his hernia on Monday. It was much harder on me than it was him...of course! We got to Primary Children's Hospital at 7:30 in the morning. We checked him in and he watched kids playing with the toys. Riley kept trying to jump off my lap. He wanted to go play so bad, it was so sad...he was just too young! :( The surgeon came and spoke to Allen and I and then we waited for awhile. At 9:00 a guy came to walk us down and so us where to wait. As we got to the end of the hall he looked at me and said, "this is where we say goodbye"...I was thinking "NO WAY! NOT YET!" I started to cry...it was so hard on me. Riley was happy and cheerful, like he always is. I kept trying to give him a kiss goodbye, but everytime I tried to kiss him, he work jerk his head the other way. What a little stinker! He was totally playing games with mom and wouldn't let me kiss him. He walked away in the doctor's arms all happy and smiling and talking.

Allen and I walked away, as I bawled down the hall. We went to the cafeteria for breakfast to distract me. I wouldn't put down Riley's blanket. I had to hold it close to me. It was hard to be away from him! We waited for about an hour and a half and then they finally let one parent to go see him. Of course I went...sorry Allen! Riley was still under. As soon as I saw him I started crying uncontrollably! It was so hard to see him laying in the strange crib and not waking up. I could just barley touch him and had to wait for him to wake up. It was really tough for me. When he woke up he was pretty out of it. We were at the hospital for a few hours for them to watch him and make sure everything was okay. They originally were going to keep him overnight because of his history, but since he did great they let us go home! :) He recovered great, and we just love our boy. Here are some pictures from that day:
Waiting in the waiting room. Happy and cheerful...like always!

Playing with dad as I checked him in!

In his surgery gown. Being a little stinker and goofing off!

With dad again. Like father, like son...

This past week has been very hectic. Riley went into surgery, we moved, had no internet....just crazy. Pictures of our new place coming soon. I LOVE it!

Riley's Surgery

Saturday, September 12, 2009
He is going into Surgery monday morning. They will also be sticking a camera down his belly button to look at the other side. If they see an opening on the other side then they will be operating on both sides. Because of his history in the hospital, they will be leaving him at the hospital overnight to make sure he is taking everything okay. We check into Primary Children's hospital at 7:30 am and he will be in surgery at 9:00 am.

What a bummer it is

Thursday, September 10, 2009
to wake up to this:
Yes you are seeing right! Someone busted our window of our Jeep. They stole Allen's Zune. I paid $160 to replace the window. What a major bummer. A great start of the day!

LOVELY!

It's official...

Thursday, September 3, 2009
WE ARE MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVING! WOOHOO! The housing search is finally over after months of hard searching! I am super excited. Having patience really pays off. We found the most amazing BEAUTIFUL place to live. It will be more a month for rent, but since I am working hard, it will be just fine. The place is so amazing. It is only 1 year old, is HUGE, with walk in closets, walk in pantry, granite counter tops, brand new black appliances in the kitchen, huge wrap around kitchen, MASSIVE shower in the master, 2 HUGE bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms. I cannot believe we get to live there. We will start moving in 2 weeks into our perfect apartment. LOVE IT!
