Oh my gosh!

Monday, October 26, 2009
So since we have been out of town, I was not able to get Riley in for his 6 month check up until now. He is almost 7 months now, so it's a bummer that we just now got him in. Here is the charts:

Height: 28 inches (86.16%tile)
Weight: 14.2 pounds (1.66%tile)
Head Circumference: 17 inches (23.84%tile)

Yes, you read that right! Out of 100 babies Riley's age, only ONE is skinnier. How sad is that. He eats like a horse and is so skinny. He is in 6-12 month clothes and only his 0-3 month pants fit around his waist. Obviously we can't put him in them because they are super short. So we have to safty pin his pants. Oh it is so sad how skinny he is. I am also so sad that he isn't very tall anymore. I mean, he is still tall, but has dropped from the 94%tile to the 86%tile. SAD!

The doctor said they are going to keep a close eye on his weight over the next few months. He said that he needs to gain some significant weight by 9 months, or they are going to do some tests. He said it could be some medical issues. So let's hope that my boy gains some good weight!

Little Helmet Boy!

Friday, October 23, 2009
Remember when I said Riley has a flat head and has to wear a helmet to correct it? Well here are some pictures of him in his helmet. It still makes me laugh.

Oh gosh this boy is a hoot. He is such a joy, and fun to live with. We sure love him! When we left on our trip the helmet got a little warped from the sun, so he couldn't wear it. Well we got it fixed when we came back. He is almost to full time wear, which means he can only have it off for 1 hour each day so he can bathe and we can clean it. He does so great with it on, and is still so cute. We love you bug!

The pumpkin patch

Thursday, October 22, 2009
This evening we went to the pumpkin patch. It was a lot of fun! We went to the same place that we have been the past couple of years. They have so many pumpkins, a corn maze, blow up jumping toys, a petting zoo...all sorts of things. It sure is a lot of fun. Here are some pictures from our little trip to get pumpkins. (I captured some of my favorite faces Riley makes...enjoy!)

I have a SIX month old?

Tuesday, October 6, 2009
NO WAY! I do not believe it! I would post a cute picture of him on here, but my camera is packed away. We are leaving bright and early for the airport for disney world and a disney cruise to the Caribbean. So fun.

Riley at six months old...
*has 4 teeth
*has sat on his own for about a month
*is now wearing a helmet because he has such a flat head
*LOVES baby food. He's been eating it for 2 months now.
*talks up a storm
*loves his life and loves to smile
*says "Mama" like you wouldn't believe...but it sucks because I know he doesn't know that's me
*gets super excited when he see's his dad
*freaks out when he sees his food...he cannot sit still
*holds his bottle himself
*drinks out of sippy cups
*rolls across the whole room
*can find his pacifier and put it in his mouth by himself
*hardly EVER cries
*loves his toys
*already wants to play with the older kids (tries to jump off my lap to play with them)
and is by far the best baby ever. I am so blessed. Allen and I love him so much and couldn't picture our lives without him. He brings so much joy into our lives. We love you bug!

Well we are gone on our vacation until the 18th. We are so excited. This has been being planned now for 2 years, and we are leaving tomorrow. It feels so unreal. The only thing we have to pay for is to check in our luggage at the airport. All other costs are taken care of. Talk about the best family reunion EVER. Thanks Grandpa and Mom! Love ya. See you in 2 weeks guys!

(pictures of Riley in his funny helmet coming soon)
